Photostory

“Before 1961, my father had a small business in San Liborio, Pignasecca, in the heart of Naples. Among his customers, he had the Passalacqua company and it was from them that the request to develop a granita machine was born. At the time, granita was made with blocks of ice, the famous grattata. My father did not drop that request and developed the first slush machines in his workshop, in a very artisanal way, which were destined for three Passalacqua coffees. It was the first slush machine in the world.
We can say that the slush maker was born in Naples and has its origins in Naples’ (Umberto Cortese)
